Richard Alston Dance Company Experience

Talented students from across years 11 to 13 were selected to participate in a three hour intensive workshop with a professional dancer from this prestigious company.

The dance students were put through their paces during the Cunningham technique warm up followed by learning the repertoire from one of his current touring performance pieces ‘Nomadic’.

As part of the package students then watched a four piece programme of dance at the Octagon Theatre in Yeovil that included an intensely driven piece ‘Stronghold’ and an entertaining piece ‘Mazur’, a duet accompanied by a live pianist. We were also fortunate enough to attend a pre-show talk with Richard Alston himself.
