Excitement is running high as the trip departure gets closer!
The focus is to gain first-hand experience of extreme ecosystems and human influences on these ecosystems. These are topics that are part of the A level course in both subjects and the trip is a wonderful opportunity to study extreme environments in reality.
We are expecting temperatures to be seasonally low, with a wind chill that could drop to -15 degrees C. Watch out for some cold weather photos in the next Sixth Form Newsletter!
During the visit we will visit and experience;
• the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa
• a geothermal power station
• the ‘Golden Circle’
• the ‘South Shore’
• the ‘Reykjanes Peninsula’
Evening relaxation at a local geothermal swimming pool
… and glacier walking, weather permitting!
