Y10s impress local and celebrity judges
Y10 GCSE Catering students enter the Christchurch Food Festival Cookery Challenge.
The aim of the competition is to develop cookery and presentation skills, and to show the ability to cope in a demanding situation. Our students performed admirably and impressed the judges to such an extent that a 4th place prize had to be added.
This years’ brief was to prepare and cook a two course healthy meal for two people for a special occasion; the meal should cost no more than £8 per head.
The winner this year was Tarka Abraham with her meal being: Seabass with roasted ratatouille, sweet potato mash & a basil dressing Raspberry soufflé with a tuile.
And the three runners-up this year were:
2nd Callum Copping 3rd Ryan Obagi 4th Clowance Wickson
Congratulations to all students for performing so well; Tarka and Cullum will now represent Highcliffe School in the area school’s competition on Monday, 15th May. We wish them the very best of luck!
