On Wednesday 4th October, ten Year 8s attended Cogit-8 at King Edward VI School in Southampton for a day of philosophical questions and brain teasing puzzles. Our students mingled confidently with others from a range of independent and state schools; discussing philosophical ideas in the morning, working collaboratively for a “Break-Out!” task after break, and learning about string theory through the medium of electric guitars after lunch! Our students were a credit to themselves, working exceptionally well and showing themselves to be respectful, purposeful and responsible young people. Special mention goes to Elissa Fordham who won a prize for her outstanding problem solving during the day, and to Maisie Philp who won a prize for her excellent teamwork. Many thanks for a truly enjoyable day! – Miss Lorek
