Through our Sixth Form teaching promote exam success and help students become independent thinkers and learners.
To deliver highly effective tutorial support and guidance where aspirational targets are reinforced through coaching, assertive intervention and rigorous monitoring.
Stimulate a friendly, supportive and mature atmosphere where high expectations are set and mutual respect is shared.

Lisa Swan

Lisa Swan is the Head of Sixth Form and her role is:

• Driving the Sixth Form vision and mission.
• Recruiting students into the Sixth Form and securing effective transition.
• Pastoral care, support and guidance for students in Year 12 and 13.
• Undertaking intervention work with students, setting action plans, with aspirational targets.
• Raising Standards in Sixth Form Learning and Teaching and promoting independent learning.
• Supporting student pathways post Sixth Form, preparing them for adult life.

Claire Tubbs

Claire Tubbs is the Head of Year 13 and her role is:

• Providing pastoral care, guidance and support for Year 13 students.
• Tracking academic progress, triggering intervention and support.
• Academic coaching and developing students independent learning and revision skills.
• Examination preparation
• Supporting the investigation of future career, apprenticeship and university pathways.

Briony Walker

Briony Walker is Head of Year 12 and her role is:

• Supporting and nurturing the successful transition into the Sixth Form.
• Providing pastoral care, guidance and support for Year 12 students.
• Tracking academic progress, triggering intervention and support.
• Academic coaching and developing students independent learning and revision skills.
• Supporting the investigation of future career, apprenticeship and university pathways.

Jenny Chalmers

Jenny Chalmers is Lead Teacher for Sixth Form Performance and her role is:

• Leading and managing the University application process (UCAS).
• Supporting students with their course choices and personal statements.
• Checking student applications.
• Writing references.
• Liaising with Universities and supporting students with UCAS adjustment and clearing.
• Supporting the tutor team though the university application process.

Amy Bowie

Amy Bowie is the Sixth Form Study Mentor and her role is:

• Maintaining a positive and motivational working environment in the Study Centre.
• Working with students on a one-to-one basis to improve their study skills.
• Supporting students with any academic issues.
• Maintaining a positive and motivational working environment in the Study Centre.
• Working with students on a one-to-one or small group basis to improve their study skills.
• Supporting students with any academic issues.
• Monitoring attendance to encourage students to become involved with their studies.
• Preparing students for university study
• Organising the Sixth Form study skills days.

Alison Bower

Alison Bower is a Part-Time Sixth Form Administrator and her role is:

• Checking University applications and references
• Work experience
• Trips, Visits and Student events
• Alumni and Destinations
• General Sixth Form administration

Vanessa Jeavons

Vanessa Jeavons is a Sixth Form Administrator and her role is:

• Admissions into the Sixth Form.
• Attendance lead - Monitoring attendance.
• 16-19 Bursary
• Profile and Progress check reviews.
• General Sixth form administration
